Continuous Improvement Training

The success or failure of a business is determined by how well customer requirements are met and how efficiently resources are utilized to produce the product or service.  In order to improve customer satisfaction and reduce costs, processes must be continually improved.  Process Management provides a methodology for teams to apply tools to an process to achieve lasting improvements.  Meeting Management develops facilitators and team leaders.

Curriculum

Process Mapping
Process Mapping enables natural work teams, particularly in service areas to select, examine and improve their processes.  This approach looks at the flow or a process, examines how well it is functioning and identifies improvement opportunities.  This results in increased customer satisfaction, reduced cycle time, reduced costs and increased quality.  This methodology is particularly suited to service areas because processes have often evolved from needs with little or no consideration for flow and process performance.  As a result service processes are often poorly designed and incapable of meeting goals.  The teams work on their own processes during breakout sessions. (2 days)NOTE:  Prior to conducting the workshop, Mesa Consulting Group, Inc. will facilitate a management planning session for setting goals and selecting teams.

Process Management
Process Management enables natural work teams to improve processes through a structured process improvement methodology. The results are increased customer satisfaction and reduced costs.  This methodology takes a holistic approach to process improvement, in that individual problems are not worked on in isolation from the entire process.  Understanding the process flow and how to measure quality are emphasized. The methodology is very similar to Process Mapping but focuses more on measurement and analysis.  As such it more applicable to manufacturing settings.  The teams work on their own processes during breakout sessions. Meeting Management
This seminar enables the participant to facilitate or lead meetings in order to maximize effectiveness.  Keys to successful meetings are developed and discussed throughout the workshop.  Specific topics covered include:

  • Meeting planning
  • Handling problem participants
  • Stimulating participation
  • Personality types
  • Evaluating meeting effectiveness
